Role Overview
The EBRD’s Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) procures the goods, works and services required for the operation of the Bank’s London Headquarters and its 34 overseas Resident Offices. Annual corporate procurement expenditure is approximately £50 million and covers a wide range of categories, including Facilities Management and Office Services, Travel Management, Utilities, Maintenance Repair Operation, Capital Goods, Human Resources, Information Technology, Communications, and Professional Services (consultants, advisers). The Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) consists of seven staff. The post reports to the Head of CPU.
This role is offered as an 11 month, short term contract
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Work closely with user departments to:
- Devise and implement competitive procurement and contracting processes for goods, works and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that respond to the Bank’s operational and strategic objectives.
- Maintain and deliver a schedule of on-going and planned procurement processes in conjunction with key stakeholders.
- Liaise with and positively influence key stakeholders in the procurement process.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers.
- Draft and present recommendations to the Head of CPU and the Bank’s Corporate Procurement Review Committee
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Best practice procurement skills combining strategic and operational thinking.
- Good working knowledge of contracts and contract law, ideally CIPS qualified.
- Procurement experience in a range of the categories listed above in the Role Overview.
- Exposure to the Human Resources category and project management considered beneficial.
- Experience in coordinating all of the inputs required to undertake successful procurement projects.
- Good communication skills, including a proven track record of building productive relationships with colleagues both internally and externally.
- Good writing skills and drafting ability; excellent level of English both written and spoken;
- Ability to work independently and prioritise.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work to very tight deadlines.
