About the Job:
Grameen America is seeking a Development Manager. S/he will support the development team of the New York office and will be responsible for grant writing, data management, research, and project-based work.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Identifying and researching new prospects, locally, regionally, and nationally ;
- Maintaining all fundraising related data in CRM system (Salesforce);
- Drafting grant proposals and funder reports;
- Composing and sending donor acknowledgement letters and other funder correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors' degree;
- At least 2 years of experience in fundraising position;
- Excellent written communication;
- Strong computer skills, must be proficient in Powerpoint, Word, and Excel;
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects independently and complete an assignment timely and accurately;
- Salesforce or other CRM skills are a plus.

Action Against Hunger is part of the ACF International network which provides humanitarian relief in over 40 countries worldwide in the sectors of nutrition, health, water/sanitation, & food security. ACF-USA, an independent NGO, currently manages operations in 7 countries: Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, South Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Cambodia & Uganda. ACF-USA, has over $45 million in programs, approximately 50 permanent staff based in NYC, 100 expatriate employees in the missions, & over 1,200 local staff. Additional growth is anticipated.
Summary of position
The Financial Comptroller serves as the chief accounting officer for the organization & is responsible for the accurate & timely compilation of all ACF-USA’s financial information. The Comptroller oversees & manages all the agency’s accounting, ensuring that operations are supported by with operations by appropriate financial management policies & that the agency is provided with adequate financial systems, tools & training. This is a senior role which requires direct involvement in:
compiling, maintaining & tracking the organization’s operating budget supervising the maintenance of accounting systems & overseeing monthly & quarterly closures overseeing the payroll process, tax payments & the Agency’s 403(B) pension plan managing all aspects of the agency’s annual audit & the filing of all IRS & tax documents providing leadership & supervision to the HQ Finance team (3 people) constructively collaborating with other senior management staff In collaboration with the Director of Finance, the Comptroller provides the organization with strategic financial analysis & ensures that excellent accounting practices & standards are observed.
Essential requirements
Bachelor degree in business, accounting or related field, CPA/MBA preferred Minimum of 5 years progressive managerial experience in financial management Experience in a non-profit organization and/or exposure with USAID, United Nations or European Union funding procedures desirable Significant experience with automated business & financial systems (Serenic Navigator a plus), spreadsheets, word processing, database software is essential Knowledge of accounting for foreign exchange transactions Strong organizational abilities, excellent written & verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Knowledge of & genuine commitment to Action Against Hunger’s humanitarian principles Must be authorized to work in the US if not a US citizen
