OPERATIONS CENTRE OFFICER

Victoria

The purpose of the Operations Centre' is to provide 24/7 central intelligence, security, and control over the Company's Operations inclusive of its vessels, terminals, people, assets, technology, and systems. As an integral part of the Center, you will monitor, control, and initiate corrective action and where necessary to facilitate, advise, and direct relative to Company policy, operational requirements, and matters of safety and security. You maintain appropriate communications during service interruptions/incidents, while providing continual fleet wide security and operational monitoring.  You maintain the service delivery model by ensuring standards for productivity and service quality are met, performing analysis of statistical data, and recommending process and/or technology improvements.

You have a strong ability to think critically and act logically while evaluating situations and determining customer service impacts and appropriate corrective action.  You are a strong leader with effective negotiation and change-management skills and an understanding of the financial impact of operational decisions.  You work cooperatively and respectfully with senior staff to ensure ongoing effective communication; are familiar with command and control structure during an emergency; and have knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, emergency preparedness and response, and contingency planning.

You have a post-secondary degree or diploma and/or equivalent experience in marine transportation operations.  Experience with BCF operational security technologies and systems and critical dispatch centre is preferred, as is experience working with emergency services/incident command centres.
