About the Job:
World Relief is seeking a Regional Savings for Life
Technical Advisor (RTA). S/he will provide support to World Relief'™s global
Savings for Life (SFL) program. This position is based in Kigali,
Rwanda and will have
frequent travel to Burundi,
DRC, Rwanda, Kenya, Malawi,
and South Sudan.
Tasks and
Responsibilities:
- Participate in strategic development of the SFL program through proposal research, development and editing, in collaboration with country-level staff and World Relief technical and marketing teams;
- Contribute towards aligning the SFL program with World Relief’s integral mission initiative including the strategic design of church partnership and the branding of SFL curriculum;
- Research innovations, developments, and impact studies within global savings programs and make recommendations for the SFL program;
- Contribute towards monitoring and evaluation efforts to keep the SFL programs adhering to best practices;
- Deliver capacity building for local field staff in project management, report writing, and strategic thinking;
- Prepare and submit ongoing reports on program performance;
- Represent World Relief at regional industry events, training, and among donor agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Development or related field, Masters preferred;
- At least 3 years professional international development experience, having been based in the global South preferred;
- Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills;
- Proven outstanding report and proposal writing abilities, assessment, analytical, and planning skills;
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office;
- Initiative, high sense of responsibility, and ability to plan, train, and organize, while working within difficult cultural and physical environments:
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and to deal with problems and issues promptly, efficiently, and with professionalism;
- Flexible and motivated team player;
- Ability to travel up to 60% of work time.
