Post:Campaign Manager, Mexico
Narrative Description
Reporting to the Country Manager, Mexico the incumbent will liaise with member airlines across the assigned countries region to maximize the value of their membership in IATA and implementing IATA campaigns as per Board priorities. At the same time, the incumbent will be responsible for promoting the global cargo
agenda in support with local and regional market demands and expectations, leading the transformation of the air cargo supply chain and ensuring assigned targets and objectives are met.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the implementation of campaigns as established by the RCT, working closely with the appropriate stakeholders (internal and external) to make the campaign implementation possible.
2. Support the Country Manager in advocating industry positions to national governments and regulatory authorities;
3. Participate in building and maintaining proactive approach to relationships with Member airlines and other industry stakeholders, including airports, authorities, suppliers and service providers across the region; create and maintain relevant partnerships;
4. Provide guidance and leadership at the regional level on key regulatory issues, including coordinating the lobbying for IATA positions on key regulatory issues across the region;
5. Promote and help implement the cargo projects in the assigned market that leads to the achievement of the project.
Key accountabilities include:
Cargo Accounts Settlement Systems (CASS) growth (Export & Import);
CASS stakeholder facilitation with the Agents Liaison Working Group (ALWG) & Local Customer Advisory Group (LCAG);
Promote the adoption of the Electronic Airway Bill (E-AWB), of E-Freight and developed solutions in Security; and
Promote the Cargo 2000 standard and its adoption through local stakeholder meetings;
6. Advocate with airlines, forwarders, GHAs, shippers, customs & civil aviation authorities, the adoption of the following; Montreal Convention 99 (MC99) and/or Montreal Protocol 4 (MP4) and introduction of policies and standards that support these protocols.
7. Issue local resolutions and when necessary escalate to the Service Center for resolution.
8. Support the sales efforts, promoting the cargo portfolio of products and services and provide advice to the Country Manager and the Aviation Solution Managers on the various products, and report on any new business opportunities.
9. Promote the cargo events, attracting and increasing the number of participants to the World Cargo Symposium, Cargo Security Forum, Cargo Claim & Loss Prevention and other Cargo Events.
10. Any other tasks as assigned by the Country Manager / Director.
Qualifications and Skills
a) University degree in Business Administration or any other relevant discipline;
b) At least 10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years in a management role in operations, preferably in cargo; Experience in the aviation industry and in aviation environmental issues would be an asset;
c) Proven outstanding project management skills, ability to work under pressure on multiple matters with tight deadlines and changing priorities;
d) Outgoing personality, excellent social skills, ability to influence people in a multi-cultural environment;
e) Sharp analytical skills, discretion and excellent oral presentation skills;
f) Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of other relevant languages is an advantage.
