http://www.savethechildren.org Summary The Senior Specialist, Emergency Response will primarily support account management for DHR emergency accounts: UNHCR, WFP, OFDA among others. The Senior Specialist will manage proposals and engage in monitoring of Save the Children projects and backstop emergency response as required. Represent Save the Children at emergency forums and join the Save the Children Global Roster and be available for two emergency response deployments per year. Responsibilities • Support the development of emergency response proposals, particularly BPRM, OFDA, WFP and UNHCR and private fundraising efforts. Primary responsibility for OFDA proposals. Serve as the proposal team manager. Coordinate and ensure submission of quality proposals in a timely manner. • Backstop Emergency Response. Provide support to ongoing Save the Children International (SCI) emergency responses. Liaise with the SCI humanitarian department and other Save the Children members to ensure emergency response teams are receiving the resources needed to operate effectively.
• Representation: Represent Save the Children on emergency response with Interaction and other working groups.
• Emergency Response deployments: Deploy to emergency response as needed for a minimum of 6 weeks.
 • Monitoring and evaluation: Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation Senior Specialist to provide M&E support to country offices/SCI in order to comply with requirements of SCI Humanitarian Rules and Principles. Requirements

• BA, MA degree in field related to humanitarian response.
 • 5 years or more international development and emergency work overseas.
• Fluency in French and/or Spanish preferred.
 • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and practices
• Proven experience with international donor arena .
• Team player, strong representation skills.
 • Able to build relationships with stakeholders, and work collaboratively across departments.
