Our client operates across online publishing, print publishing and events all within the growing environmental sector. The company has seen continued growth over the last 12 years, and has positioned itself as the leading media company within the environmental sector.

Your primary role will be working with the support of the Commercial Director, to organise and lead the team of sales representatives to ensure group and individual targets are met on a monthly and annual basis. This will be achieved through agreed strategy and development of products to open new commercial opportunities.

PRODUCT RESPONSIBILITY

·         Online

·         Events Sponsorship

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Setting sales targets for individual sales executives and the team as a whole, according to company guidelines

·         Recruiting and training staff

·         Allocating products to sales representatives

·         Developing sales strategies and setting targets

·         Monitoring your team’s performance and motivating them to reach target (especially at quite periods).

·         Compiling and analysing sales figures

·         Customer Relationship Management – ensure that the existing company CRM tool is used effectively by all members of the sales to drive reporting and activity reports

·         Agree daily sales KPI’s and ensure they are met.

·         Ensure excellent and clear communication is made with the team, holding regular weekly meetings.

·         Account Development - dealing with some tier 1 and tier 2 accounts and create and maintain a continuous approach to account development designed to retain and increase existing business and to seek out and secure new business. To lease with the Commercial Director and agree those accounts which meet the criteria of “key potential” and the method used to secure the available business.

·         Monthly reporting to Commercial Director (and possibly other directors).

·         Product Knowledge - Keep up to date with products and technical aspects are understood and how these translate into client benefits

·         Selling Skills – to fully understand the product sales process and which selling skills are used to navigate the way through this process. To ensure that all orders are negotiated to achieve the group profit requirement and that the agreed proposal meets and satisfies the customers’ needs.

·          Competition – Ensure regular analysis and update are made with competitor sites and magazines to create awareness of sales opportunities. At every opportunity, ensure that competition is met with skill and resourcefulness and their weaknesses are exploited to their cost and the group’s gain.
