Aga Khan Health Services: With community health programmes
in large geographical areas in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa,
and more than 200 health facilities including nine hospitals, the Aga Khan
Health Services (AKHS) is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit
health care systems in the developing world. Building on the Ismaili
Community's health care efforts in the first half of the 20th century, AKHS now
provides primary health care and curative medical care in Afghanistan, India,
Kenya, Pakistan, and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government
in health service delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.

The Position:
Responsible for the overall leadership of Provincial
Hospital.
Responsible for the day to day management and
administration, including financial transactions.
Coordinate Facilitate and coordinate Nursing development and
clinical and support services of the hospital.
Promote and facilitate evidence based clinical practices,
policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in Hospital and external exerts
recommendations.
Support the Head of Clinical Services in strengthening the
existing links with the FMIC hospital in Kabul on clinical governance and
in-service training activities for the Hospital staff including development of
the nurse training and resource centre.
Ensure rigorous supervision, monitoring and enhancement of
clinical governance and quality improvement activities including programme and
clinical audit.
Support and develop capacity of the Head of Clinical
Services and Clinical Management team and other key members of the Hospital
Team to enable them manage the programme in future.
Oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of
the Hospital Master Plan using the guidelines for stakeholders in the AKDN and
guidance from the AKHS, A hospital planner consultant.
Coordinate with the Provincial Health Directorates, and
represent the AKHS, A in the Provincial Health Coordination Committee (PHCC)
and Provincial Development Committee (PDC) meetings.
Liaise with other implementing agencies to coordinate and
improve the quality of current programmes.
Participate in donor facilitation and regular and timely
reporting for Hospital .
Work with AKDN (AKF.A) regional team to ensure support and
functioning of all joint activities.
Coordinate with the Regional Programme Manager, and National
office for implementation of the programs, security and HR policies.
Prepare a monthly report for Hospital and submit it to the
National Programme Director, AKHS, A, Kabul.
Facilitate the continuing education programmes in the
hospital.Any other duty assigned by the Country Director/ Clinical Service Manager, AKHS, A, Kabul.
The Requirements
Essential
Post Graduate qualification in Hospital Management /
Administration /Business Administration with major in Hospital Management
equivalent to masters level from a reputable university.
At least 3 years experience in managing 75 ' 150 bed
hospitals.Experience in supervision of clinical work especially clinical audit, mortality audit and evidence based practices.
Proven skills in HR management, problem solving, crisis
management and conflict resolution.
Proven ability to manage change in staff practice, staff
mentoring and institutional development particularly hospital designs.
Good computer skill in word, excel MS office.
Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
Good communication skills.Able to work on own initiative.
Systematic approach to work and being able to apply modern concepts in hospital management.
Flexible team player.
Desirable
Medical Doctor /Registered Nurse / Medical practitioner.
Familiar with the Government of Afghanistan, Ministry of
Health policies for hospitals.
Having good knowledge of Medical Records and related
hospital information management.
Experience and ability to work with communities (hospital
board), partners and donors.
Knowledge Basic Package of Health Services policies.
Knowledge of Access, Epi-info, Archive.
Knowledge of Dari.
