Médecins Sans Frontières Holland is looking to fill the position
of Compound Attendant for Kenya Mission
. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The successful candidate will be under the direct supervision of the All round
Logistician.
Objective of the
Position:
• Do the gardening in
order to maintain clean and organized all green areas in MSF premises.
• Clean outside
territory within the MSF premises. Assist with the maintenance work and other
activities in MSF premises.
Tasks &
Responsibilities:
S/he will perform the
following main tasks, among others:-
• Execute green areas
maintenance activities (mowing, pruning, trimming, watering, fertilising and
weeding).
• Refill water
cisterns and inform line manager when there is a shortage.
• Perform simple tasks involving earthworks, laying borders
and paving, drainage.
• Take care of the equipment on the assigned sites, on a
day-to-day basis (cleaning, putting away).
• Keep area within MSF premises clean and tidy (ex. empty
dustbins, sweep paths, etc).
• Screen, follow up and execute all repair and maintenance
works in the MSF premises, which including painting, replacing components of
water and electric system, etc.
• Perform additions tasks upon request from supervisor.
Qualifications &
Requirements: Education: literacy
Experience: At least 1-2 years of professional experience in
similar position.
Skills/ Competences: Flexibility, pro-activeness, interest
in both gardening and technical maintenance, communication skills,
thoroughness, organization skills, sense of autonomy
Language: Good level of English
