Médecins Sans Frontières Holland is looking to fill the
position of a Memory Project Officer for our Memory
Project (Somalia). The
position will be based in Nairobi,
Kenya. The
successful candidate will be under the direct supervision of the Head of
Mission.
Objective of the
Position:
• To compile material for reference to keep the memory of
MSF’s work.
Tasks & Responsibilities: S/he will perform the
following main tasks, among others:-
• Finding of documents (annual reports, sitreps, medical
reports, etc) and filing, both electronically and hard-copy when relevant
• Culling information from these reports that best creates a
brief chronology of activities
• Supplementing this information with interviews conducted
with key expats/national staff
• Dialogue with operations, to further supplement operational
information as well as knowing their priorities for the project
• Locating general context information (sitreps, other
sources)
• Compilation of main security incidents using the work of
Wouter Kok as a basis.
• Compilation of ALL external communications
• Compile for general distribution
Qualifications & Requirements: Education: at least BA;
computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook 2007,...); has excellent context
understanding in Somalia;
require prior knowledge and understanding of MSF activities in Somalia
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience with
MSF.
Skills/ Competences: interested in research; good writing
skills, and editing skills; diplomatic, cultural sensitive, patient, flexible;
proactive, attentive to details, problem solving and organizational skills;
ability to negotiate and handle complex assignments with proactive attitude.
Language: Proficiency in written and oral English &
Somali.
