Position Title: Regional Controller – Central, East and West Africa
Organisation: Coca-Cola Ltd.
Location: Nairobi, Nairobi Area
Position Overview:
A senior member of the GBS and Africa Global Finance Operations Organization. Lead team of 8 professionals based in GFO Africa offices in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Kenya with overall responsibility for consolidation/end to end accounting and reporting for US GAAP and statutory books and taxes with 7 legal entities covering 30 countries, including sign-off on full sets of books.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Manage the Africa GFO engagement with clients and partners
. Manage and develop a team of 8 associates based in GFO Africa satellite offices in 3 locations
. Consolidation/End to end accounting/reporting responsibility for 7 legal entities (US-GAAP and statutory); sign
off on full set of books
. Manage Tax compliance and develop tax strategy for all 7 legal entities with corporate tax partners
. Development of accounting/reporting/controls standards for new business models in close cooperation with
Legal Entity Controllers, BU Finance Directors and associates and Atlanta
. Ensure compliance with Company policies & procedures
. Overall coordination with E&Y partners and external providers of statutory accounting/reporting and tax
services of centralization of services; agreements on SLAs and service charges
. Engagement with country statutory Tax revenue boards in West and East Africa
. Agreements on Role Sorts and Service Charges with BU Finance Directors
. Responsible for continuous client/partner engagement
. Other Leadership and Process responsibilities as may evolve
Drive, manage and embed operational excellence and a continuous improvement culture within the team to
deliver improvements through lean principles.

. Must be conversant with tax laws across all locations in West and East Africa. Tax laws complex, diverse and dynamic
. Engagement with tax revenue authorities in countries where 7 legal entities are registered
. Number of ‘non-standard’ operations consolidated/covered (e.g. supply points, equity bottlers/canners) : 4
ORGANIZATION IMPACT/ INFLUENCE

. Controls & Compliance team
. Corporate Audit, Accounting Research, Controllers Group, M&A, Corporate Tax, Corporate Treasury
. BU Finance Directors, Other BU Finance Associates and BU/Group Presidents
. CPS Plants and Supply Chain
. E&Y partners – Audit and Tax
. Other Tax consultants ( PwC and KPMG)
. Third Party supplier for statutory accounting/reporting/taxes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
·         8 associates, based in 2 remote locations
·         Responsible for setting objectives and conducting performance reviews
·         Final decision on hiring of team members
·         Responsibility for training and development of team members
·         Other people and engagement issues relating to team
Requirements
·             10 years Finance experience in the Coca-Cola system or multinational environment;
·             Fluent in English (verbal and writing);
·             Strong knowledge of Accounting standards and US GAAP;
·             People leadership experience and ability, including experience in managing remote teams;
·             TCCC Core Competencies: Builds Vision and Strategy, Influences the System, Builds a Winning Culture;
·             Strong Problem Solving, Decision Making and Analytical Thinking skills;
·             Excellent Communication skills;
·             Strong SAP and Excel skills

abroad is preferred

. Required travel to high risk and non high risk locations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

. Some travel required: 50% to 60% of time mainly requiring overnight stays.
