ICANN is looking for a Director of Enterprise Risk Management to join our growing organization and focus primarily on implementing and sustaining the enterprise wide risk management process. You must have the ability to handle multiple priorities, complex situations, identify and analyze problems, and exercise creativity to develop and implement practical solutions. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, with the ability to effectively lead, influence and motivate others.

Key Responsibilities:

  •     Collaborate with others to establish effective risk management practices, monitor capabilities and communication channels.
  •     Bring together all risk management processes currently residing within the organization
  •     Facilitate the identification and assessment of new risks within the organization; integrate all risks within the organization into a disciplined process to allow decision makers to apply limited resources effectively.
  •     Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise wide risk policy. Once implemented, support and help to drive the risk management planning (annual and forecast) activities that yield accurate and timely results.
  •     Develop, implement and maintain an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework (COSO, IRM standard, ISO31000, etc.). Educate operational groups on risk oversight and the operation of framework.
  •     Assist in the development of long term strategic direction of the company by aligning ERM activities with efforts completed in other risk-based areas within the organization.
  •     Ensure risks within the company are identified and assessed, and departments are utilizing a standardized framework to communicate risk across and through the organization.
  •     Integrate ERM with other key management decision making processes such as strategic planning and budgeting.
  •     Assist departments with their understanding and management of risk and implement risk improvement processes. Establish effective communication channels with risk oversight as well as through and across departments to ensure organizational risk is identified, controlled or accepted.
  •     Develop an appropriate risk measurement structure, which includes the likelihood and severity of events occurring and the impact from such events.
  •     Provide training to internal business partners on risk assessment and rating methodologies
  •     Monitor completion of all risk control enhancements within the company

Required Skills

Required Experience
  •     12 plus years experience in corporate risk management to include:
  •         Risk management, finance and process change in a global company
  •         Broad understanding of ERM services
  •         Proven ability to recognize, identify, assess and control risk across a wide variety of disciplines
  •         Extensive knowledge of risk management frameworks
  •         Experience driving new processes across an organization (change leadership) and dealing with multiple stakeholders

    Bachelor degree Business, Finance, Accounting or other Business related program

    Experience with international non-profit organizations in a risk management role
    CPCU or ARM certification or advanced degree in finance, risk management is preferred
    Experienced interaction with senior level positions and presentations; expected interactions amongst all levels of management as well as the board of directors.
