About the role
Boral Quarries provides high quality aggregate for large infrastructure projects, and for residential and commercial construction, and is seeking a responsible, organised and experienced individual to join our team.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking the fixed plant maintenance requirements.
Duties/responsibilities
· Carry out maintenance and repairs to fixed plant, ensuring all equipment is operational and safe for use,
· Liaise with Plant Operator and Quarry Manager on any issues that need attention, being safety or production,
· Work closely with the Asset Management team in the development of plant reliability programmes,
· Ensuring Boral policies, standards, safety and operational business plans are followed at all times,
· Carry out plant inspection check lists,
· Maintain a neat and tidy workshop and work area,
· Participate in site safety meetings,
· Initiate and communicate improvement ideas that improve efficiency, reduce waste and costs, and
· Lead and maintain a quality focus with product, environment and work ethic.
Skills/experience
· Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance,
· Trade qualified or completion of Certificate III in Surface Extraction (preferred but not essential),
· Ability to work in teams,
· Ability to maintain an energetic, self motivated and enthusiastic work ethic,
· Strong safety and environmental awareness,
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and
· Quality orientation with a passion for operational excellence, safety and self improvement.
