RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conservation International's Marketing + Branding team is looking for a part-time summer intern to assist the Photo Editor in organizing and building CI's photo library. This is a great opportunity to learn about photography, copyright and digital asset management for a global organization.

Digital Asset Management:


  •     Organize historical photo collection and apply metadata
  •     Collect photos from field staff and source new photography to build photo library
  •     Review asset quality and metadata to ensure consistency
  •     Create/edit training materials and help global staff troubleshoot issues

Photos + Licensing:
  •     Assist with photo licensing and stock photo purchases
  •     Assist Photo Editor with photography research and editing
  •     Create photo galleries for press and social media
  •     Curate collections of photos by theme

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:


  •     Must be enrolled in a degree program in Photography, Journalism, Communications, Library Science, or a related field
  •     Excellent computer (mac) skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems
  •     Highly organized with attention to detail
  •     Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:
  •     Experience in photo editing with Adobe Lightroom, Bridge or Photoshop preferred (include link to portfolio if you have one)
  •     Interest in conservation issues and a willingness to learn

Working Conditions:

    This position is based at CI HQ in Crystal City, VA.
    Normal office environment
    Flexible hours – at least 21 hrs/week
