In July 2003 CHF piloted the first microfinance program in Iraq, Access to Credit Services Initiative (ACSI) to address the demand for credit from micro and small businesses and home owners. ACSI’s mission is to contribute to the overall economic revitalization of Iraq by helping male and female business owners and
home owners to strengthen and expand their businesses, stabilize their income, and improve their habitat and quality of life, which is consistent with CHF International’s mission to improve the housing and economic circumstances, and environments of low and moderate income communities around the world.
About the Job:
ACSI seeking an Internal Audit Control Consultant to work with the ACSI management and advisory board to operationalize the internal audit function. The new internal audit function shall allow ACSI senior management to identify and prioritize key risk exposures, design mechanisms to mitigate risks and assign responsibilities to conduct appropriate controls.
This assignment may be carried out by a individual, team, or firm.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Strengthen capacities of the audit team;
- Support regular internal audits;
- Analyze findings;
- Develop recommendations;
- Ensure that ACSI’s internal control procedures are adequately integrated into daily operations.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 - 10 years of experience in internal audit in microfinance or SME lending;
- Previous experience developing client delivered programs in internal controls and internal audit;
- Past performance in similar work for well-known microfinance/SME lending institutions, preferably in the Middle East;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Fluency in English. Fluency in Arabic is helpful.
