Manager On Site Infrastructure

An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to become part of our team based in Saskatoon, SK.  Reporting to the Deputy Project Director Surface, this is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to the Jansen Potash project ensuring completion of the on-site infrastructure elements of the study work for the ancillary buildings, utilities and civil work, and hold management responsibility for implementation.  Ensure the development of the operation is performed in the most economical and beneficial manner. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
    Undertake the review and acceptance of area-specific and discipline-specific engineering documents, reports, drawings and other deliverables.
    Responsible for the development and compliance of the change control process for the on site facilities including the definition and monitoring of modifications.
    Responsible to develop and maintain key relations with the EPCM and Tier 1 contractors.
    Interface for documentation from relevent team including documents to be received from the Off site team as the site is commissioned and handed over to operations.
    Input into the commissioning as a champion of operations for the development of transition processes from dry commissioning to wet commissioning and the subsequent handover to operations.
    Review installation during construction and identify any significant Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) noncompliance areas that require migration pre-operations start-up.
    Ensure compliance with business level processes and procedures.
    Coordinate operations training packages with OEM suppliers on and off site.

Key requirements:

We are seeking a degree qualified engineer in the disciplines of Civil, Mining or Metallurgy with over 15 years of experience in the development of project infrastructure.  The role requires exceptional communication skills with a solid track record in negotiating agreements and generating compliance.  Success in the roles requires experience with large operational development projects and a good knowledge of multidiscipline engineering and industry standard practices. Experience within the resource sector – mining preferred within a global context is an asset.
