Superintendent Health
& Hygiene

An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and
experienced professional to become part of our team based in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Manager Health, Safety and
Environment Execution, this is an exciting opportunity to define the standards
and work plans, including 1SAP Work Strategies, required to effectively manage
risks, issues, controls, legal obligations and Group Level Documents (GLD)
requirements owned by the HSEC function.
Key responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate an
overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
Implement and
maintain performance standards, including associated 1SAP Master Data, required
to deliver expected performance of critical controls belonging to the HSEC
function.
Analyse health and
hygiene related business performance, emerging industry trends and work
execution history to identify improvements, updating 1SAP Master Data as
required.
Monitor the 1SAP
Work Management process through the monitor and control processes, engaging
relevant stakeholders to drive improved process discipline.
Lead, coach and
mentor Health and hygiene function team members to deliver against objectives.
Implement the
health and hygiene component of the HSEC contribution to the 5-year plan.
Implement the
health and hygiene programs, standards and 1SAP work strategies (e.g. work
plans, task lists) that define how HSE risk issues and legal obligations are
managed across the business.
Provide health and
hygiene input to the work instructions relevant to work performance.
Technical input to
initiatives that build line management capability and capacity to effectively
manage health and hygiene related risks issues.
Provide and
monitor case management for BHPB employees and assist contractors with their
employee case management process.
Key requirements:
Success in the role
requires a Bachelor's degree in health related discipline – occupational
hygiene, physiotherapy, human movements or related field along with a minimum
of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry 2 of which have been in a
supervisory capacity. The role requires detailed knowledge of key concepts
theories and practices related to effective control of HSE related risks. A
demonstrated capacity for establishing work plans and ensuring the delivery of
those plans and the deployment of major change initiatives is required.
Experience with 1SAP is required and experience within an operational or
mid-sized capital project within the mining industry is preferred. The ability to manage people and processes
and ensure continued stakeholder engagement is essential to the role.
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package
commensurate with abilities and experience (base salary approx. $113,300.00 -
$141,625.00/annum).
