Background Information:
The successful candidate will work within the Web/Windows Development team
and develop and support a wide range of external facing web applications &
internal business systems. Analyst/Developers are expected to have a strong
technical ability and a sound understanding of the operational side of the
business
Main Purpose of the Role
The general duties of the Analyst/Developer are to design, develop and
maintain software to the required standard and in a timely manner in response
to requirements.
Key Responsibilities
·
Analyse new or changed business
requirements and liaise with analysts, clients and other staff as required.
·
Design and develop new software
or modify existing software to meet new or changed business requirements in
accordance with standards. Including, but not limited to, specifications, code
and user documentation where appropriate.
·
Ensure all deliverables for
projects are delivered in a timely manner.
This may include activities outside of regular working hours.
·
Ensure all work is performed
according to the processes and standards followed by the development team.
·
Perform code reviews for other
developers on the team in accordance with and to promote the standards followed
by the development team.
·
Participate in the mentoring and
training of team members.
·
Participate in post-project
reviews and managing resolution of any issues raised.
·
Provide technical assistance and
guidance as required to other staff.
·
Keep abreast of new technologies
in the market place and share the knowledge within development services and/or
other relevant areas.
·
Work with other Development Teams
to deliver cross-team/platform projects.
This may involve acting as a point of liaison for other Development
Teams and/or liaising with the Analysis teams.
Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
·
Solid working knowledge and
extensive industry experience of:
·
ASP.NET Web Forms
·
ASP.NET MVC
·
C# and/or VB.NET
·
WCF Web Services
·
SQL Server 2008: T-SQL
·
Solid understanding of the
Software Development Life Cycle
·
Agile methodology experience
(preferably Scrum)
·
Unit test frameworks
·
Strong interpersonal skills

Enterprise development experience

·
Some prior industry experience
of:

Entity Framework

Unity Application Block
