Organizational Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Copyright
Infrastructure Division ("the Division") the incumbent serves as a
Project Manager in the Division initially managing the Trusted Intermediaries
Global Accessible Resource ("TIGAR") project and other projects
related to WIPO's Visually Impaired Persons (VIP) initiative.
Main duties:
(a) plans, designs and implements strategic promotional and
marketing activities for approval of the Steering Committee, with the purpose
of engaging new stakeholders, donors and other interested parties in the
development and implementation of the project in various countries, fostering
their relationships with WIPO and seeking external funding and support;
(b) in collaboration with the Copyright Law Division and the
Office of Legal Counsel, the incumbent designs and implements any legal
structure necessary to further the development of the project subject to the
policy direction of the Director General;
(c) in collaboration with the Information and Communication
Technology Department (ICTD) or other technology provider, leads the further
development of this project and any other assigned project, developing and/or
updating project plans, coordinating all internal and external activities,
authorizing work within the mandate delegated, promptly communicating any
potential deviations outside agreed tolerance and monitoring project
performance to ensure that all inputs and outputs are delivered in a timely
manner;
(d) coordinates the information sharing between the TIGAR
project and the capacity building effort to extend the benefits of TIGAR in
Least Developed Countries and developing countries generally, thereby
facilitating their participation in TIGAR;
(e) participates in related international meetings, working
groups and committees;
(f) performs other responsibilities as delegated by the
Director.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A university degree in international relations, business
management, marketing, law or other related discipline.
Experience:
At least 9 years of extensive experience in project
management in an inter-governmental organization or in a legal field.
Skills:
Availability for traveling in various countries to meet
stakeholders, donors and other interested parties.
Excellent drafting and presentation skills.
Ability to think creatively and to communicate clearly.
Good inter-personal skills and a proven ability to work well
as a member of a team.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English or French. Good working
knowledge of the other language.
Annual salary:
(Net of tax)
67,483 USD
72,467 USD (with primary dependants)
Post adjustment:
94.8 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be
considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards
or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.

Information:
Please note that the salary is composed of the base salary
(indicated above as "Annual Salary") + the post adjustment. The post
adjustment is designed to compensate the differences in living costs, thereby
providing the staff with the same purchasing power at all duty stations. It is
expressed as a percentage of the base salary.
Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the
official rate of exchange of the United Nations.
* Initial period of one year, renewable, for a further
period of one year, subject to satisfactory performance. No temporary
appointment or any extension hereof shall carry with it any expectancy of, nor
imply any right to, (further) extensions or conversion to a fixed-term
appointment.
